Baru-baru ini kita melihat video beredar di lini massa media sosial yang merekam sejumlah anak-anak melakukan demonstrasi. Kejadian di dalam Video berlangsung di Hamburg, Jerman. Video tersebut diunggah pula oleh akun DW.Com ( Deutsche Welle) salah satu media terkemuka dari Jerman.

Demonstrasi yang dilakukan oleh anak-anak tersebut ditujukan pada orang tua mereka yang lebih memperhatikan gadget daripada anak-anak mereka. “We are here. We are loud. Because you are just looking at your mobile phone” Orasi yang diterikan anak-anak tersebut sambil berjalan.

Meskipun terlihat orang tua yang mendampingi anak-anak saat demonstrasi namun kegiatan demonstrasi tersebut terlihat begitu serius. Anak-anak tersebut turun ke jalan dengan membawa spanduk dan tulisan tuntutan. “Bermain dengan saya, bukan dengan smartphonemu (orang tua).”

Salah satu Anak yang berorasi pada demonstari tersebut adalah Emil yang berusia 7 tahun, dia berharap setelah dilakukan demonstrasi anak-anak minta orang tua matikan handphone, waktu lebih banyak dihabiskan bersama.

Jadi Siapa yang Kecanduan Gadget ?

Dari berbagai penelitian ilmiah siapaun berpotensi mengalami kecanduan. Namun sebenarnya orang tua lah yang memiliki potensi lebih besar. Berapa jam anda menggunakan smartphone ?

Menurut Adrian Ward, seorang psikolog yang meneliti keputusan konsumen. Ia merilis sebuah jurnal yang diterbitkan oleh Journal of the Association for Consumer Research. Dalam jurnal itu, Ward menuliskan bagaimana smartphone memiliki efek unik.

Efek unik smartphone bekerja pada otak kita seperti halnya sebuah nama yang kita miliki dari kecil. Ketika kita dipanggil dengan nama tersebut otak kita akan terdistrak atau otomatis fokus untuk merespon panggilan tersebut.

Begitu halnya dengan smartphone, otak kita akan selalu terfokus pada benda itu. Memang prosesnya membutuhkan waktu , namun lambat laun smartphone akan menjadi bagian dari kehidupan kita. Sehingga kita akan selalu tertuju pada smartphone.

Bila kita melihat kasus di Jerman. Negar tersebut merupakan salah satu negara yang memiliki jumlah kepemilikan smartphone paling tinggi. Sekitar 72 persen penduduk Jerman memiliki smartphone. Sedangkan di Indonesia sendiri menurut Lembaga riset digital marketing E-marketer memperkirakan pada 2018 jumlah pengguna aktif smartphone di Indonesia lebih dari 100 juta orang.

Angka tersebut merupakan angka yang potensial bagi industri digital, namun ibarat mata pisau yang terdiri dari dua sisi. Di sisi lain bayang-bayang kecanduan pada smartphone akan terus mengintai.

Orang tua harus mulai sadar dari sekarang. Karena yang sebenarnya kecanduan dan bahkan membuat anak-anak kecanduan adalah orang tua sendiri.
